Corner House Antiques Sheffield, MA

Corner House Antiques specializes in American antique wicker furniture from the 19th and early 20th century. Owners Thomas and Kathleen Tetro established their shop in 1977 and soon became pre-eminent dealers in the field of antique wicker. They are sought-after for their knowledge, collection, discerning eye, and meticulous weaving restoration skills.

A spacious 2-story barn is filled with a large antique wicker inventory ranging from the traditional, to the rare and off-beat. Showroom vignettes include woven furniture befitting all interior rooms of the home, as well as the garden room or porch. Corner House Antiques carries the four classic styles of antique wicker from the 1870’s to 1920’s – Victorian, Bar Harbor, Art Deco and Stick Wicker. The shop also carries turn-of-the-century bamboo, art glass panel lamps and mid 19th century American cherry and mahogany furniture.

The Tetros participated in the 1993 “American Wicker” exhibition at the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery of the National Museum of American Art. This was a significant event in the renaissance of antique wicker furniture.

The Tetro’s extensive inventory and private wicker collection has been featured in numerous national publications including Architectural Digest, House and Garden, Old House Interiors, Country Living, Travel & Leisure, Yankee, New York Times, Boston Globe and Time-Life Books, as well as many local & regional venues. Their website Press Page offers a glimpse at their publicity over the years.
